Kay Kenton

Ms. Kenton is an abstract expressionist and colorist. In her diverse but related oils, she captures the profoundness of a new born baby, the diversity of human emotions, the beauty of nature and her respect for Native American cultures.

She has called many beautiful and classic cities her home. After being raised in the Midwest, Ms. Kenton moved to Tucson, AZ. to finish her education. Upon graduating, she fulfilled her childhood dream by moving to Paris, France. Afterwards, she spent a decade in the tropical paradise of Hawaii and, finally, returned to her beloved Southwest, settling in Santa Fe, N.M.

While living in Tucson, Ms. Kenton met her painting mentor , Alfred Rogoway {b.1900-d.1989}. Rogoway studied under Feininger, Leger and Orozco and was in group shows with Miro, Braque and Picasso. Also, she has studied with David Derousseau from the Kansas City Art Institute and painter Daniel Bethune.

She has shown her work in each place she has lived.
